ENGINEERING WORKSTATIONS

The EWS labs currently include over 1000 workstations and serve over 10,000 students. The mission of EWS is to provide a high performance and highly reliable instructional computing environment for the students and faculty of the College of Engineering.

Spring 2012

All EWS labs will resume regular hours of operation for the Spring Semester on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8AM.

EWS Virtual Application Pilot

You can now access many of the applications found on EWS lab machines from your personal computer, by simply going to the website, installing a plugin, and clicking on the application. The application will then run on our server backend, using the server resources and graphics processors. Please follw the instructions found at our Citrix Pilot Page for additional information. Note that this is currently in pilot test mode for the entire fall semester, and we would like your feedback at ews@illinois.edu to determine if this is a solution that we should consider for future semesters.

For assistance with any EWS resource, please contact an on duty lab consultant, e-mail ews@illinois.edu or call the EWS Hotline at 217-265-8161.
